This blend was skilfully mastered like topiary- well rounded and silky smooth. Good balance in expression of dried fruits and rancio displays the careful ageing process this wine has undergone in old barriques. This Traditional Australian-style Tawny blend exhibits all the great hallmarks of a well-rounded fortified. Ripe stone fruit, jams, raisins, butterscotch and dried apricots form the face of this complex little number. The palate is rich, viscous and warming and finishes with the perfect amount of savoury nuttiness and rancio. It is a wine of great length which will beg you for another glass. Winemaking Notes Highly expressive varieties were chosen for a delayed harvest, fermentation and fortification with fine old brandy spirit. Mr Mick is a blend of fortified wines that includes parcels over 20 years of age. Controlled cellaring conditions for a long period of time in small old oak casks allows even maturation, the evolution of ‘developed’ fruit characters and increasing complexity.
